Suite N°1 is a choral piece for 12 performers composed from the sound collection of the Encyclopédie de la Parole. Following on Parlement (2009), whose stakes it amplifies and extends, Suite N°1 stages the vocal reproduction of a large number of speech recordings. This time however, it will be less the rapid succession of spoken words than a massive redoubling of voices to make heard all the wealth and strangeness of the most ordinary forms of speech. By multiplying performers, languages, methods of distribution and compositional techniques, Suite N°1 proposes raising a precarious and joyous monument to the diversity of oral forms.

In 2020, opening the “Portrait” offered to Encyclopédie de la parole by the Festival d’Automne à Paris, Suite n°1 is re-created at the T2G – Théâtre de Gennevilliers with a part of the original cast and a group of students from the ECFA d’Asnières, Ecole Supérieure de Comédiens par l’Alternance (ESCA).
